Transparency & trust

Your experience. Your words.

Reviews help neighbors make informed decisions. The same rules apply to praise, criticism, claimed businesses and unclaimed businesses.

Who can leave a review?

Describe your own experience with the business. Do not impersonate someone else, review your own business, post on behalf of a competitor or accept payment or rewards for your review. We do not offer rewards for reviews or selectively ask only satisfied customers.

What is public and what is private?

Posting requires consent to publish your display name, star rating, written review and service date. Your email, confirmation code, private management key, reports and unpublished submissions are not part of the public review. Private application records are encrypted at rest. Email providers process confirmation messages; ordinary email is not end-to-end encrypted.

Email confirmation is not purchase verification

An eight-digit code confirms control of the submitted email address. The “Email confirmed” label does not prove a purchase, identity, or that the account holder is a customer. A “Claimed by Owner” badge identifies a claimed business profile and does not endorse the business or validate its reviews.

Fair screening and publication

We screen for obvious spam, duplicate text, links, markup and exposed personal information before publication. We do not hold a review merely because it is negative. A screening flag is not proof that an experience is false. We do not rewrite a review to change its meaning. Reviews needing investigation stay unpublished; their authors can see the status and appeal from their private management page.

Ratings and review order

The displayed score is the arithmetic mean of published customer ratings, rounded to one decimal place. Each email address has one active review per business; a newly confirmed review updates that person's previous review. Reviews appear newest first. Unconfirmed, held, withdrawn and replaced submissions do not count. No reviews or scores are invented, and ratings from other websites are not combined with this score.

Owner responses and reports

An approved owner may post a response below a review. Ownership does not grant control over the reviewer's words or rating. Anyone may report a policy concern. Reporting or disputing criticism does not automatically remove it; allegations need investigation. There is no paid removal or favorable-rating service.

Withdrawals, corrections and appeals

Keep the private page opened after submission. You can use it to withdraw your review, check screening status and appeal. To correct your words, submit a new review and confirm the same email; an accepted new submission replaces your previous one. If you lose the private page, a new accepted email-confirmed submission can replace the old review. Publication and removal take effect after the next successful site update, usually within several minutes. Reports and appeals needing investigation are not guaranteed an immediate automated outcome.

Our approach follows the principles in the FTC's review platform guidance and Google's review markup guidance.
